At the helm of InspireED is LaMecca Coates, an experienced educator and consultant with over 20 years of experience in both public and independent schools. LaMecca holds dual master’s degrees in education and has held prominent roles such as Assistant Head of School, Director of Diversity, and Dean of Students. Her diverse experience in teaching, advising, administration, and strategic planning gives her a unique, holistic approach to educational consulting.
LaMecca’s work focuses on guiding families through complex educational processes, supporting educators with professional development, and providing strategic career guidance. Her career has been defined by a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and she has led initiatives to support underrepresented communities and promote inclusive educational environments.
Throughout her career, LaMecca has contributed to improving school communities, notably at Burgundy Farm Country Day School and Georgetown Day School. She has led key committees, developed strategic admissions plans, and strengthened community relations. A sought-after speaker, LaMecca has led workshops for the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and facilitated thought leadership events with the Parent Council of DC.
