With over 30 years in the transit industry, Gary Guy exemplifies excellence in transportation management. As the Director of Transportation at the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), Gary oversees daily operations for over 650 unionized operators and nearly 50 supervisors, serving New York’s Capital Region across six counties.

Starting as a Transportation Operator at CDTA, Gary’s dedication and skill led to rapid advancement. As a Transportation Supervisor, he coordinated operations and optimized resource deployment. His role as Transportation Superintendent involved managing daily fixed route and paratransit services across four counties, handling over 15 million annual trips with a focus on safety and reliability. From 2007 to 2015, he balanced career advancement and family life while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Capella University, graduating in 2015.

Since 2021, Gary has led as Director of Transportation, driving departmental success and aligning strategic goals. His collaborative leadership fosters strong union relationships and ensures efficient dispute resolution. A commitment to customer satisfaction underscores his proactive approach to public feedback and safety enhancements.

Active in community service, Gary serves on the Board of Directors for Whitney Young Health and supports various organizations, including Schenectady Community Ministries, APTA, AHA, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He also contributes to Harvest Church and supports Prayer Warriors Advance Ministries.
